[ROOT] error while loading shared libraries

Hi there;

I'm trying to install ROOT_3.04 on a RedHat 7.3 machine.
I compiled it from source and installed it in /usr/local/.
Unfortunately /usr/local/bin/root.exe does not find the shared libraries 
in /usr/local/lib/root/.

What is wrong? What can I do?
