Hi David,

We do not have a makefile for SGI in 64 bits mode, but the option
to compile is already in the source. To acticate this mode,
you have to compile with the option -DIRIX64 (see RConfig.h)

I remember testing this option a few years ago, but it was decided (FNAL)
to work in 32 bit compatibility mode for backward compatibility with
existing infrastructure in Fortran.

It is likely that the source will compile and run without changes.
ROOT runs already in 64 bits mode on Alpha and Ithanium machines.
The work is to find out the right list/combination of compiler/linker
options. If you succeed to find the right options, let me know.
