In case you have such a tool, I would be very interested to use it since currently we are investigating the BATSE GRB data and for this we (obviously) use ROOT. However, for the time being we are restricted to the available ASCII data files, since I couldn't get the ASTROROOT package of Reiner Rohlfs to work yet. Rene : In case this FITS->ROOT tree tool is available, could you then consider to include it in the ROOT distribution itself (a la h2root) ? This would be a great help for the astrophysics community and also boost (even more) the use of ROOT within this branch of research.
