Root follows the fink policy and installs everything under /sw. As the
library path is hardcoded into the root executable built by fink, it is
not necessary to set $ROOTSYS or $DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH. Therefore you can
just leave your old root version on your disk and just unset the both
environments and remove the $ROOTSYS/bin from your PATH. Then you
should pick up the root from fink which gets installed into /sw/bin.

Well, the chance is sure not zero, but I'm not actively using geant. I
suppose you ask for geant4? I have also a request for CERNLIB,
especially PAW. However, this is a hard piece and I'm not sure if I
manage to pack it up for fink.

You're very welcome.
