Hi, As already pointed out, you have met a long standing problem. In principle, the TObject should be a virtual base class. It was not done this way from the beginning because (if I remember well) some compilers, that the ROOT was supposed to use, could not really deal with virtual inheritance well. Now, the situation is possibly much better ... However, to make the TObject a virtual base class would involve very many changes in the inheritance hierarchy. So ... forget it. Best regards, Jacek.
