Hi David Have a look at $ROOTSYS/tutorials/basic.C. In this example of reading numerical data from a text file, the data /are/ in 3 columns separated by spaces - but nothing in the ROOT framework /requires/ this - you just have to make sure you read whatever the file is correctly.
