[ROOT] root installation on debian system

Dear Root Team,

I try to install root3.05/7 on debian system with gcc 2.95.2.

I did:  ./configure linuxdeb
        gmake

Also tried:  ../configure linux
             gmake   

Seems that it was able to build many classes but later stop with the error 
message:
   
gmake[1]: entering `/usr/local/root/asimage/src/libAfterImage'
.............................
import.c : In function 'gif2ASImage'
import.c : 1316: Structure has no member name 'Function'
.............


Have you come across with this error?
Pls help me.
