Does this implies, 1. ROOT will have GEANT4 dependency and will be "obligated" to advice how to install Geant4? 2. ROOT team has to make sure that interface works for all ROOT officially supported platforms? 3. One has to keep tracking all Geant4 movements to be consistent. My personal opinion <ROOT - "some concrete application"> interface should be kept with that application rather with ROOT. On other hand some non-Geant4 specific ("abstract" GUI) classes would have been highly appreciated as a part of ROOT. I think, this answers the Guy Barrand's question: > "Why not integrate G4UIRoot into the ROOT official releases?" For me this implies Geant4 team finds no interest to support this interface doesn't it? No wonder one can find other reasons why such generic package as ROOT should not include the interface to such special application like Geant4. ---- Best regards Valeri > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-roottalk@pcroot.cern.ch [mailto:owner-roottalk@pcroot.cern.ch] On > Behalf Of Exaos Lee > Sent: Friday, January 23, 2004 11:17 AM > To: ROOT Talk > Subject: [ROOT] Why not integrate G4UIRoot into the ROOT official releases? > > Dear all, > Please refer to http://i.home.cern.ch/i/iglez/www/alice/G4UIRoot/ > I ask this question in the Geant4 forum: "Why not integrate G4UIRoot > into the Geant4 offical releases?"
