Hi again, I've just done a search over the ROOTtalk list archives for the last couple of years for posts about the default background colour (grey) in ROOT histograms --- I've heard more people complain that the histos don't have a white background by default than about any other feature in ROOT! Surprisingly I only found one (unanswered) post, so thought I'd bring the issue up again. Sorry if you're sick of hearing about this! Anyway, is there some reason for the default canvas background colour to not be white? And is it possible to over-ride it in e.g. a .rootrc file rather than having to put a load of histogram formatting commands in any script that I use? I have a similar issue with the drop-shadowed boxes for the histogram title and the stats box --- if the box outline and shadow can be disabled in .rootrc, I'd be interested to know!
