I assume that you use TGaxis to draw this axis. TGaxis is not able to toggle automatically between lin/log scales. Only axis drawn from TAxis have this capability. I have now implemented this feature also in TGaxis in the development version in CVS. With your version, you have to specify the log(y) when positioning the axis along y.
