yes, support for return types has been a little inconsistent and is indeed
missing ulong in 4.00/08e (it's was fixed only two months ago, but that's
good enough for it to be there in 4.01).

For some reason, my TGWindow() ctor crashes, but my GTK installation is
flaky, and I'm toying with the linking process. Thus, I can't say that it
works for 4.01, but at least the ulong shouldn't be a problem anymore.

No, I see no other way of getting the handle than through GetId() ...
