Could you sen the COMPLETE output of
  echo $ROOTSYS
  cd $ROOTSYS
 ./configure --prefix=/usr/local --enable-soversion \
   --enable-thread --disable-cern --disable-mysql --disable-sapdb \
   --disable-rfio --disable-pythia --disable-pythia6 --disable-venus \
   --disable-srp
  gmake distclean
  gmake -k
  ls -l $ROOTSYS/bin
  ls -l $ROOTSYS/lib
