Hi Patrick, Sorry for the delay. I thought that your problem had been processed by Fons. My laptop has been stolen 10 days ago and as a result I have a huge backlog of mails still to be processed. I cannot reproduce your problem on a FC2 machine. Your problem looks like a mismatch between your PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH or a version of root.exe in the bin directory compiled with a different compiler than the .so files in the lib directory. Could you try with the binary tar file on our web site. take the version from http://root.cern.ch/root/Version401.html and let me know if you still have the problem.
