Hi Claire, I see your point, but the "problem" is not what you describe think. The error bars arecorrectly drawn. They stop at the markers' edges. This can be clearly seen on the top left plot your sent us. As you can see, on that plot, the more left square marker is not crossed by a line whereas the two others are. These crossing lines are not the errors bars related to the squares but are those linked to the solid circles drawn at the same X position. To convince you it is the case, just change the line color of the errors bars connected to the solid circles. So there is nothing we can do. In fact, in a such plot, using different colors or line width for the errors bars would greatly help to avoid mistakes in the plot interpretation.
