Tree scan selected entries

Dear All, I am interested to get the total number XX of entries selected by the command

Tree->Scan("br.var1","CUT1");

==> XX selected entries

How can I do it? Which is the name of that variable? What can I do if I want to produce a tree scan to get that XX number without the visualization of the scan results (table) on the terminal window requiring contineously to click the ENTER button? regards
