problem opening a file

Dear all,

I am having problems when trying to open some root files using the following procedure:

TString path=("~/analysis/data/Jets/");
chain->AddFile(path2+"rome_jets17_03980.root ", TChain::kBigNumber); etc...

I double checked the path and file names & I get the following error:

Error in <TFile::TFile>: file
/pcatr-srv1/home/mmdg/analysis/data/Jets/rome_jets17_03980.root does not exist

any hints?
