Hi Thomas,

We just updated the ROOT code to remove the use of BIT(17) in TTree. It turns out that this single bit was anyway insufficient to properly implemented the mechanism that needed it.

We will create a branch in the CVS repository to add this patch to the ROOT 4.04.xx source.

using the new pro-version with our analysis software I found a lot of stuff, which I like to tell you:

BTW: Independant of all critics: root 4.04/02 seems to work very well and behaves stable. I like the new version!
