Hi Michael,

If you draw in the pad, do

   gPad->SetTheta(mytheta); //default is 30 degs    gPad->SetPhi(myphi); //default is 30

Currently the pad settings are ignored when drawing in the GL/X3D vieweers. We are currently extending the 3-d viewer interface such that you can drive the position/zoom/angles/etc via an API
