Answer to your question 1:

Multigraphs are collections of TGraph plotted all together so common minimum and maximum can be computed. TGraph doesn't have statistics (only TH1,2,3 have). So you cannot get statistics box on a multigraph. I am not sure how you would like to convert a Multigraph to a TH2... May be send a running little example to this list describing a bit more your problem.
