I'm not sure why you use ./makePythia6.macosx, it should be
./makePythia6.linux

Also I included the following --enable-soversion with the ./configure command

I use SuSE linux

Subject: [ROOT] Linux linking problems with root/pythia

Hi ROOTers,

When I try to use pythia with root and the external compiled "libPythia6.so", somehow the two dynamic shared objects are missing :

libEGPythia6.so
libEG.so

I download the pythia package from the following link :

ftp://root.cern.ch/root/pythia6.tar.gz

After that I run in the pyhia directory the follwoing command :

./makePythia6.macosx

to create the dynamic shared object "libPythia6.so ". After that I specify
the external linking in the configure script

./configure linux --with-pythia6-libdir=/home/mmitrov/pythia6/

After that I am running "make".

I am not sure what I made wrong? I wanted to mention that I am using Scientific Linux.

Any ideas where the mistake is???
