As Chistian noted, those packages are meant for the "unstable" version of Debian. It's not surprising they fail to build-dep or install on your "stable" Debian.
So, either move to "unstable" (although "testing" may be enough) or use ROOT 5.03/01 for "stable" via:
deb http://mirror.phy.bnl.gov/debian-root stable root deb-src http://mirror.phy.bnl.gov/debian-root stable root
