problem with staff.C

Dear Rooters

I am using the example staff.C, but it gives the problem with the following message.

root [3] .x $ROOTSYS/tutorials/staff.C
Error: fgets param[2]=0 must not be 0 /scratch/root/tutorials/staff.C:35: *** Interpreter error recovered ***

I am not able to understand this problem. Any soln please.
