RE: ROOT and Qt4

Hello Eduardo,

The "root/qt" directory includes the Qt project "qmake" file too. Look for qt/qt.pro. That can be used to compile that directory alone with Qt3 and Qt4 also

You do (from $ROOTSYS/qt)

  1. setenv ROOTSYS <your root installation as usually>
  2. setenv QTROOTSYSDIR $ROOTSYS
  3. qmake CONFIG+=debug qt/pro (or just >qmake )
  4. make
  5. make install

The further instruction can be found under http://root.bnl.gov/QtRoot/How2Install4Unix.html

But ... Even though I did make the CPP flags for Qt4 and make sure the code can be compiled under Qt4 and I did NOT test it yet   See: http://root.cern.ch/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2770&highlight=qt4

       http://root.cern.ch/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2290&highlight=qt4

I can not officially support two branches simultaneously for Qt4 and Qt3 (Qt3 and Qt4 are source code incompatible )   Anyway I would appreciate if you could try it on your own :) and send me the corrections you might have had
(or just wait .... untill CERN Qt4 adoption. If that happens tomorrow I can have done it one day after tomorrow too :)

  Thank you

Best regards
                   Valeri
