Hi Stephan,

  this is basically correct. If you don't have fftw installed the ROOT interface will not even be build, so that should solve that problem. For the rest the system is LGPL and you can include it in you commercial app (the dynamic linking is not a requirement, but most convenient as ROOT will manage the needed modules via its plugin manager).
