Dear Colleague,

        in view of the large number of requests that we have received in this sense, we have decided to extend the abstract submission deadline for the XII International Workshop on Advanced Computing and Analysis Techniques in Physics Research (http://acat2008.cern.ch) till the 30th of September 2008. The abstract submission page will be soon reopened so that abstracts can be submitted again.

     I take this occasion to announce you that the proceedings of the conference will be published in “Proceedings of Science” (http://pos.sissa.it ), the open access online journal organized by SISSA, the International School for Advanced Studies based in Trieste. The proceedings will be peer-reviewed. The refereeing process will be overseen by the editorial board. The deadline for the submission is 15 January 2009. As it is an electronic journal, there is no page limit, but we suggest 10 pages for plenary presentations and 5 pages for parallel presentations. Thanks for your attention and best regards,
