I am trying to compile ROOT (ver 5.20.00) from source on a 64bit Xeon machine using ./configure linuxx8664gcc with gcc version 4.3.0. It fails in building rmkdepend because it cannot find some standard C++ header files. I've tried to force it by pointing to these files directly, but it then fails in other spectacular ways.
If anyone has succeeded in compiling under these similar conditions I'd be interested to hear what you did. Thanks for any help.
