gui classes usage

Hello,

  I have two questions on ROOT GUI classes:

  1. how to specify fixed width of TGLabel?
  2. how to notify widget, what its content should be repainted? I mean the case: 
         fStatusBar->SetText("Processing...");
         fStatusBar-> ???

         [... some long operation]

    3. how to switch TGHSlider to "disabled" state?
