Hello,

  you can check the status from the FunctionMinimum class, (see http://project-mathlibs.web.cern.ch/project-mathlibs/sw/Minuit2/html/classROOT_1_1Minuit2_1_1FunctionMinimum.html)

There are methods like FunctionMiminum::HasReachedCallLimit() or FunctionMinimum::IsAboveMaxEdm() which tell you the reason. If you use Minuit2 via the Minuit2Minimizer class, you have this printed automatically when you set a verbose mode (print level >0)
