can root do date manipulation?

Is there a way to manipulate dates in root? For example, if I have two dates and would like to find the interval between them in days. Or if I have a date in yyyymmdd format and would like to convert to mm/dd/yy format.

The only date-related class I found has been TDatime, which doesn't seem to do this.
