Dear Bryn,

thanks for the suggestion, I tried it just now in X11. Unfortunately, it doesn't change anything...

What I think is really strange is that I am able to type the curly brackets using the
Pave Label and Latex buttons in the toolbar, but not in the Pave(s) Text.

PS. I have a Norwegian keyboard, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem.
