maximum number of files in TChain::Add()

Dear rooters,

just a quick question to root experts,
is there a maximum number of files
that can be added to a TChain ?

I mean I have 20000 root files to be merged (no more than 20 MB for each file), I wonder whether I have to split the list of the root files.
