Hi,

ROOT files are almost like ZIP files: they can contain almost anything. We have no experience with PET images stored in ROOT files and I have no idea what the Sinogram format is. But though you should be able to draw whatever data you have in ROOT files. You could then save that picture as an image (e.g. TIFF). I would expect your STIR software (that I don't know either) to be able to import images.
