Fitting a log-log or semi-log histo or graph plot generated not the actual data points

Dear ROOTers,
How do I get root to fit the above mentioned if the original data was linear but I have converted my axes accordingly. The FitPanel widget on the graphical mode, always fits using the actual raw data but not the converted axes data. This is like a secondary fitting of new "data points". Sometimes my data is a simple straight y=mx+c graph on a log-log but root fails miserably to fit it! I'm then forced to extract the data points, convert it on the fly as I read it take back into root to perform the fitting.... Regards,
