Re: Unable to install ROOT version 5-32-01 on mac 10.7.3 with gcc version 4.2.1

It looks like you have some old MacPorts or Fink directory laying around which provides gunzip and tar as PowerPC binaries. Please remove them and make sure that

$ which tar

report /usr/bin/tar the same for gunzip.
