The current ROOT distribution kit includes only include files and
shared libs.
>From version 1.0, scheduled for early this spring, we will provide
the complete source as well.

We are working to make this source machine independent with the
inclusion of as many machine/compiler dialects as possible.

We can also provide the existing source (root.cmz) file to users
willing to install (and give us feedback) on new architectures
or compilers. Contact the authors directly at rootdev@hpsalo.cern.ch.

Concerning ROOT with g++
========================
 We are receiving many requests for support of g++ on all platforms.
So far our plan was to provide the libraries using the vendor
native compiler. However, if we realize that there is a majority
in favour of g++, we would be happy to provide the g++
generated libraries instead.

We will try to provide a g++ version, for SUN/Solaris in particular,
in the very near future (days, I hope).
