Hi Michael,

the problems you are having are due to LessTif. LessTif
is getting better quickly, but it is not there yet. ROOT uses
a quite small subset of Motif (mainly mainwindows, menubars,
scrollbars, buttons, toggle buttons and popup menu's). Most of
this subset works, except for the popup menus. Alas, ROOT heavily
uses popup menu's (as object sensitive menus in a canvas) and
therefore you might see segv's whenever you touch the right mouse
button. Also toggle buttons in menus are not correctly aligned.

If you can spare the money, I would advise on getting an official
copy of Motif (e.g. RedHat). Otherwise, get regularly new copies
of LessTif (last week there was posted a patch for popupmenu's).

Cheers, Fons.
