Hi Ole,

   you can explore the system using the browser. To create
a browser object type: 
  TBrowser b
or
  TBrowser *b = new TBrowser
for a browser that will stay alive after a gROOT.Reset() call.

If you always want to see the browser at root startup add it
to your rootlogon.C file (which file gets executed at startup
time can be set in your .rootrc file. See $ROOTSYS/tutorials
for an example).
