Hi Christopher,

  to be able to use iostream in root you have to do this:

root [1] #include <iostream.h>
root [2] cout<<"aap"<<endl    
aap
(class ostream)2063294240
root [3] 

You can put "#include <iostream.h>" in you logon macro.
