But it seems you can do this yourself just now and quite easy. Just adjust you Netscape for the ".CC" extension to instruct it to run local ROOT via the command line like ROOT <clicked-file-name>.cc For example with "Netscape 4.0" for Windows just go to 1. Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Applications 2. New-> Description of - "ROOT macro files" File - "cc" (cxx,c,cpp used to be occupied by MSVC compiler) MIME type Application to - %rootsys%\bin\root "%1" The same thing can be done via Microsoft Internet Explorer even more easy. MS IE allows the user to define several applications for one and the same file extension. And it works very nice (at least under my Windows NT) Adjust you browser and then try: http://nicewww.cern.ch/~fine/www/surfaces.CC http://nicewww.cern.ch/~fine/www/LHCBGeometry.CC http://nicewww.cern.ch/~fine/www/STARGeometry.CC (Note: The last two macros use OpenGL DLL. It is always loaded for Windows NT and needs no special user's action. Your computer should be quite fast to play those macros, but you may try ANY our macros from the ROOT/tutorial section yourself) Valery Dr. Valeri Faine (Valery Fine) ------------ ------------- Phone: +41 22 767 4921 CERN FAX : +41 22 767 7155 CH-1211 Geneva, 23 mailto:fine@mail.cern.ch Switzerland http://nicewww.cern.ch/~fine
