Hi Reid,

   this is a Motif internal function. It seems not to be in
Lesstif and that is why you get the error. Using something like
RedHat Motif will solve the problem. However, if you can wait a 
week we will be releasing ROOT v2.0 which will support a complete
new GUI which does not use Motif (or Xt, only X11).
