  Fons,

  This is addendum to my last email. The Makefiles I wrote and which 
  generate the shared object libraries are not correct. The ROOT does not
  work when I replace the the original ROOT 2.00/05 libraries made
  for Solaris 2.5 with those generated with gcc.
