Pasha,
	We used a Red Hat 5.0 LINUX box at BNL and ran into the same
problem.  The canvas can be refreshed by moving the arrow into the
canvas and hitting the center mouse key.  Let me know if that also
works on IRIX 6.x.  Thanks.
