i caught the typo, ftp'd the whole thing to my NT machine, and have tried
it out. i just made sure my ROOTSYS pointed to the STAR distribution and
ran the hprod.C and hcons.C from my old distribution (the macros don't
need to change, right?) 

still, i get the same behavior.  what might i be doing wrong, or
what may be wrong in my NT setup?
