Hi Tim,
Looking at the abstracts of CHEP98, you can see a few presentations
quoting Root as the development framework. These reports are important
for our project regarding future support.
As you know, the Root project has grown so far with nearly 0 support
from CERN. This was good in some sense, but we know that many
experiments expect something better.

Both Fons and myself will attend. We have the intention to organize
some kind of Root users meeting during one evening. We could present
the status and current plans. It would be nice if we had some
contributions from users followed by a discussion.
People interested to attend this meeting and/or to make a contribution
are invited to contact us such that we can book a room and organize
a mini-agenda.

Rene Brun
