Dear Rooters I just got the 2.12 version of root for sgi using the kai 3.3 compiler. I was surprised that it doesn't support shared memory files any more. With the hcons.C and hprod.C macros of the tutorials area I produce the following out put. Error in <TMapFile::TMapFile>: no memory mapped file capability available Error in <TMapFile::TMapFile>: mapped file not in mmalloc format This worked in earlier versions so i am very surprised . A 2.12 root version that we compiled under red hat linux using the kai 3.3 compiler on the other hand seems to work fine. cheers hans wenzel EKP Karlsruhe
