Hi, I have been using ROOT under Solaris 2.5. Until version 2.00/13 I was able to ftp binaries for Solaris 2.4, actually SunOS 5.4, because h2root from the SunOS5.6 distribution does not work under SunOS5.5. The h2root from SunOS5.6 distribution when run under SunOS5.5 complains about missing library. I was not able to ftp ROOT version 2.20/01 SunOS5.4 binaries due to permission(?). So I run ROOT 2.20/01 for SunOS5.6 and h2root from the ROOT 2.00/13 distribution for SunOS5.4. By the way, did anybody succesfully recompile root binaries with gcc under Solaris 2.5?
