root v2.20-06 rpms for Intel linux available at: ftp://phyppro1.phy.bnl.gov/pub/root/root-2.20-06.i386.rpm ftp://phyppro1.phy.bnl.gov/pub/root/root-2.20-06.src.rpm they have been built with optimize qualifiers turned on opt = -O2 -m486 -funroll-loops With the above qualifiers, the root benchmarks.C tutorial clocked in at 95.29 rootmarks (400Mhz PII, 100Mhz system bus). With the default debug qualifiers turned on, I was getting a little over 60 rootmarks. have fun! BTW, I did not see an announcement made to the root annouce mail list about 2.20-06 or to roottalk, maybe they were made but I missed them since I tend to delete all my roottalk e-mails. If the announcement was not made, I would urge the root team to annouce new releases to the annouce mail list so that I can then make these rpms available to the root community. Cheers. Steve.
