Hi Ulrich, The varlist is not stored as a data member string in TTree/TNtuple. The TTree::Branch function scans the list and creates a branch for each variable. The corresponding branch varlist is stored as the title of the branch. If you get the pointer to the branch, you get retrieve the varlist with char *varlist = branch->GetTitle(); If you do not know how to get the branches, I can send you a piece of code if you want.
