ROOT and CLHEP based simulation package

Hello,

you might be interested to know that, in the context of the HADES
collaboration at GSI, a preliminary package of simple generators has been
developed and is available with extensive documentation for downloading at

http://hades.gsi.de/computing/pluto/html/PlutoIndex.html

It consists of classes to set-up and manipulate particles,
(elementary-particle) reactions, and filters, and the output is in the 
form of both Ascii and ROOT files (the former for input to GEANT). The
starting point has been the BABAR version of the CLHEP library, with
partial modifications for compatibility with ROOT. In its present form,
the package can handle phase-space and Dalitz decays, multi-step processes
involving elementary particles commonly encountered at intermediate
energies (not heavy ions), and filters to impose acceptance constraints on
the generated events.

Future releases will attempt to standardize the GEANT interface and ROOT
output, and enhance with tools to enable more sophisticated simulations
and physics analysis.
