Dear Dr. Langston,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm planning to use the Autoconfed version of
ROOT from your site.  I'm now in the process of downloading the file
root-2.21.08.tar.gz.

I still have some questions:

1.  Do I still have to set the environment variables such as $ROOTSYS ?

2.  What is in the file root-2.21.08.04.tar.gz ?

3.  Is there any preferred shell where this installation works?

I guess that's all for now.  Thanks in advance.
